The smallest pig with the biggest personality.

About Me

Hey! Hey you! Down here! Yeah, it's me, Runt! I may be the smallest pig at Pine Acres, but I've got the biggest personality you've ever seen. Don't let my size fool you โ€” I'm the life of the party! While Merlin is busy being the boss and Precious is busy getting belly rubs, I'm busy being the most entertaining pig you've ever met. I run, I jump, I make silly noises, and I always steal the show. People always say 'aww, you're so small!' and I say 'yeah, but watch this!' Come visit me and I'll show you what a little pig with a big attitude can do!

My Personality

Runt is small in size but huge in personality. He's spunky, energetic, and always the center of attention. He makes up for his smaller stature with enthusiasm, charm, and a mischievous sense of humor. He loves making visitors laugh and will often do silly things just to get a reaction.

Safety Tips

Runt is small, so please be careful not to step near him. He's very friendly, but don't feed him without asking a farm helper. Pigs can nip when they're excited about food, so keep fingers away from his mouth during treat time.

Native Country

New Zealand

Lifespan

15-20 years

Diet

Grass, vegetables, fruits, and small amounts of grain

Conservation Status

Recovering โ€” saved from near extinction in the 1970s

Kune Kune pigs are a heritage breed from New Zealand, believed to have been brought there by Maori sailors. They are unique among pigs because they can graze on grass alone โ€” they don't need the high-grain diet that commercial pigs require. They are much smaller than commercial pigs and have distinctive tassels called 'piripiri' hanging from their lower jaw. Kune Kune pigs are known for their extremely gentle and friendly temperament, making them excellent farm companions. They were nearly extinct in the 1970s but have been saved by dedicated breeders.
